In July, the goverment set out its plans for the UK Carbon Reduction Commitment. The first phase begins in April 2010, all organisations that consume 6,000 MW/hr as a group are legally required to participate in the scheme. The plan involves compulsory purchase of Co2 allowances. A director must be nominated to take responsibility for CRC, failiure in these responsilibilies is a criminal offence.
